The first title to emerge from Rewrite Cycle #48. Astro is a classic asteroid-field arcade shooter, rebuilt from the ground up for the platforms that just made the previous version obsolete. Pure retro action — now compatible with hardware that didn't exist when we started writing it.

The year is 2094. Mankind has several bases on planets in our solar system. The latest is built on Neptune's moon Triton. Aliens from another galaxy don't like that humans are colonizing space and they try to stop mankind by redirecting asteroids from the Kuiper Belt towards Neptune. The asteroids are preventing free and safe travel to our latest outpost on Triton.

An international force of space fighters is tasked to clear the asteroids to guarantee safe passage. The aliens don't like that and regularly perform attacks on our space fighters. You are one of the heroes of this force of space fighters and your job is to clear all the asteroids by evaporating them.
